Do you create custom bouquets or do all your flowers look the same?

I love to create custom bouquets and I rarely recreate the same look twice. After you complete the inquiry form, feel free to email inspiration photos to hello@byshanae.co.

How far in advance should you place your order?

All flowers are imported into The Bahamas. Additionally, some flowers are seasonal and not readily available year-round. Some flowers need to be ordered well in advance and others can be shipped into The Bahamas within a weeks notice. Long story short - it’s best to give as much notice as possible :).

Do you create other wedding/special event flowers?

Yes! From wedding arbor flowers to centerpieces, flowers are our thing and we often team up with other creatives to put together beautiful looks.

Do we need to have a consultation?

We don’t need to have a consultation unless we are discussing various floral pieces or arrangements for a wedding ceremony, reception or other special event. We can communicate via email regarding your wedding bouquet. Why email? Because it’s easier for all parties involved to keep track of what was discussed. And remember that this process is meant to be easy for you!

What budget should I have?

Bridal bouquets start at $185 and bridesmaid bouquets start at $85. You can make your bouquets larger but the size and stated price can’t be downsized. Note that making your bouquets larger OR wanting more high-end flowers such as peonies and orchids will incur an additional cost.

Are bouquets available every day of the year?

We don’t typically deliver on Sundays or Holiday Mondays. You can get your bouquet Mondays (*holidays aside) through Saturdays as long as the date is still available. Your date will be confirmed on our calendar ONLY after payment bas been made.

Do you deliver?

Yes, all orders are delivered.

Can I see a mockup of the flowers first?

Mockups are rarely requested but they can be created IF the flowers can be sourced without placing a special order. For example, some flowers come in from Holland and aren’t always easily accessible, especially in small quantities. Ssuppliers require minimum orders and one bouquet is unlikely to fulfill a minimum stem count order. Note that the charge for the mockup will be equivalent to the costs quoted in your invoice.

Can I order flowers for my destination wedding even though I‘m currently outside The Bahamas?

Sure! Ordering flowers with us easy. Place your order in the shop or fill out the custom order form to get started. We easily communicate via email as needed.

What should I expect in this process of ordering my flowers?

Complete the custom order form to get started. Once you place your order, you will receive a quote based on the information provided OR we may request additional information via email. Once the contract is signed, payment details will be sent.

What payment options do you have available?

We accept payment via direct bank transfer and Zelle.

How long have you been working with flowers?

Shana E., the Lead Designer, has worked with flowers since late 2013 and continues to freelance with event decorators and flower shops, along with creating beautiful florals for her By Shana E. clients. We are based in Nassau, Bahamas.

Do you have wedding packages?

We don’t have pre-made wedding packages for bouquets, arbor/arch florals and centerpieces because we believe that all weddings should be custom. You can complete our inquiry form here if you need a quote.

How are your flower costs calculated?

Flowers used by locally based designers are imported from all over the world. Costs are calculated based on flower cost from suppliers, shipping, customs duty, supplies, labour, and markup.

I don’t see the style or look I want on your website, can you still create what I want?

Shana E., the Lead Designer, has created many bouquets and looks over the years, most of which are not shown on the website. Feel free to reach out to us by completing the inquiry form here.

Can you guarantee the flowers I want will be available for my wedding?

While we aim to meet all floral requests, the availability of specific flowers is subject to seasonality, weather, and market conditions. We suggest discussing your preferences early to assess availability for your wedding. Should certain flowers be unavailable, we are committed to finding beautiful alternatives that fit your vision. Our goal is to ensure your wedding flowers are as perfect as possible.

Can using more greenery keep costs down?

Contrary to popular belief, greenery is not always a cheaper alternative to using flowers. Sometimes, it can cost more!

What happens if the flowers I want aren’t in season?

Some flowers are seasonal and may still be obtained even when they are out of season. IF this is possible, they will costs significantly more, though the may not be as high quality as when they are in season. Substitutions can be made if you have a particular look you want to achieve. We will let you know if/when a flower is out of season and use our judgement to choose the substitutes.

Are you open to travel for my wedding?

We love hopping on a flight and travel as needed. Feel free to send us an email at hello@byshanae.co with more details. Flowers can also be flown to some other islands, though you will have to arrange the transportation and bear all logistics costs.

Do you collaborate on styled shoots?

We don’t typically participate in styled shoots any longer but we may be open to the idea depending on the details. Send all styled shoots or requests to collaborate to hello@byshanae.co.
